NearbyIQ watches a commercial market around a business address. Almost everything it handles is public information about businesses. This page says what it holds about you, who else sees it, and how to make it stop.
This document describes how NearbyIQ actually works today and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, email admin@nearbyiq.com and ask — a question gets a straight answer faster than this page can be revised.
What we collect from you
Your email address, so we can sign you in and send you the monthly report.
Your business name and street address, because the address is the whole product: the boundaries we draw and everything we count are measured from your door.
The competitors you choose to track, if you name any.
Ordinary technical records that come with running a website — request logs, error reports, and whether a report we sent was delivered.
What we collect about your market
Publicly listed information about businesses near your address: name, category, location, opening status, rating and review count. This comes from Google Maps Platform under Google's terms, and it is business information rather than information about any individual.
We do not collect or buy data about individual consumers, we do not track people's movements, and we have no way to tell you who walked into anyone's shop.
Who else handles it
Supabase stores the database and runs sign-in. Vercel hosts and serves the site. Resend delivers email. Google Maps Platform supplies the place data. Anthropic's Claude writes the prose of your report from figures we have already computed. Once card payment opens, Stripe will handle billing and we will not hold your card number.
Each of these is a processor acting on our instructions. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.
AI-generated insight
The numbers in your report are measured, not estimated or predicted. What a language model does is write them up in plain English: it is given the figures we already hold and is not permitted to introduce a number of its own.
Your figures are sent to Anthropic to produce that text. They are not used to train anyone's model.
Email, and stopping it
Every message carries our postal address and a one-click unsubscribe link that needs no login and takes effect immediately — not eventually. If you unsubscribe, we stop sending to that address, and we keep a record that you asked so that nothing sends to it again by accident.
Alerts and the monthly report can be turned off separately in your settings.
How long we keep it
We keep the months you have received for as long as your account is open, because a market read is only useful next to the month before it. Close your account and ask us to delete it and we will, other than records we are required to keep.
Your requests
Email admin@nearbyiq.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, export it, or have it deleted. A person reads that address.
Where this runs
NearbyIQ covers US markets and its data is stored in the United States.
