Terms

Last updated · September 28, 2026

These are the terms on which NearbyIQ is provided. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

This document describes how NearbyIQ actually works today and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. If anything here matters to a decision you are making, email admin@nearbyiq.com and ask — a question gets a straight answer faster than this page can be revised.

What the service is

One subscription covers one business location. We draw a neighborhood and a wider market around its address, count what is inside them each month, and send you the result by email on the 1st and in a dashboard, with alerts in between when something material happens.

A second location costs the same again and is reported separately. We do not average two markets together, because the average would describe neither.

Trial and payment

The trial requires a card and ends on the 15th of the month carrying your first monthly report, so its length depends on when you sign up. You receive 2 reports before the first charge: an immediate read when you finish setup, and your first monthly report on the 1st — 14 days before the charge. Cancel at any point during the trial and you are not charged.

Pulse is billed monthly and you can cancel at any time; cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access to the end of the period you have paid for. The Site Report is a single purchase, delivered once.

Card checkout is not open yet. Until it is, we set locations up by hand at the same price and on the same trial.

What the figures are, and are not

The counts we report are measurements of public listings within a boundary at a point in time. They depend on those listings being accurate and complete, and they are not a census of the street: a business that has never been listed is invisible to us, and so is one listed at the wrong address.

Where we cannot compare a month against the one before it — because the boundary moved, the method changed, or there is no prior month — we say so and withhold the comparison rather than printing a number that would mislead you.

Nothing we send is a forecast, and nothing we send is advice about whether to sign a lease, open a location, or close one. Those decisions are yours.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself, and give us an address you actually own or operate. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

The reports are for your own use in running your business. Do not resell them or redistribute them as a product of your own.

Availability

We aim to deliver every month on time and we will tell you when we cannot. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and some of what we depend on is not ours — if a data source changes what it publishes, that can change what we can report.

Ending it

You can cancel at any time. We can end an account for non-payment or for misuse, and we will tell you why.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits or for business decisions made on the strength of a report.

Changes, and reaching us

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you before it takes effect. Questions go to admin@nearbyiq.com, where a person reads them.
